Winter Walk 2024
Winter Walk, San Francisco’s signature holiday event, returns to Union Square December 13–22 for a 10-day celebration that transforms two blocks of Stockton Street into a festive holiday destination.
Presented by the Union Square Alliance and sponsored by the Office of Mayor London N. Breed, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD), Amazon, JP Morgan Chase & Co., the Build Group, Gap Inc., Waymo, Ikea, Macy’s Inc., Zoox, and Safe City Connect, this annual event will once again feature elaborate holiday decor, captivating performances, programmed snow, and seasonal offerings of food, drink, activities and shops.

Hours of Operation: Mon-Wed, 12:00 – 7:00 p.m. | Thurs-Sun 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
*Dec 14 hours are 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. due to repairing storm damage
Winter Walk features an exciting and diverse lineup of entertainment that unites the entire community. Sponsored by JP Morgan Chase, the event includes two stages showcasing live performances from local favorites such as the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and the Dan Ashley Band. The program also offers interactive experiences, including caroling troupes, kids’ choirs, drag shows, and roaming entertainers like a charming Snowman character and a whimsical typewriter poet. This vibrant celebration embodies the holiday spirit and the unique, eclectic charm of San Francisco.

The food truck schedule at Winter Walk is expertly curated by Tanya Kollar, celebrated for shaping the vibrant culinary offerings at Outside Lands. Known for her commitment to diverse, high-quality cuisine, Kollar has brought together an exceptional mix of both established and emerging food vendors.
One65 Patisserie is unveiling exquisite chocolate figurines inspired by Union Square’s iconic hearts. These handcrafted creations are a must-see (and taste!) for the season, blending artistry and flavor in every bite.
Winter Walk also features seasonal cocktails by Jon Vargas from Cocktails on the Fly, who has curated cocktails at the Mill Valley Music Festival, owned the local establishment ‘The Royale’, and worked at notable San Francisco venues including Grand Cafe and Redwood Room. His menu includes Vixen’s Egg Nog, Rudolph’s Mule, Ube Bridge Bliss, and Hot Buttered Drink, along with a peppermint hot chocolate for younger guests.
The Winter Walk Holiday Marketplace, curated by Sunset Mercantile, returns this year with a vibrant showcase of local talent. Featuring over 20 rotating vendors daily, the marketplace highlights the incredible diversity of makers and artisans from San Francisco and the Bay Area, including nearby neighborhoods like Chinatown and the Tenderloin. Shoppers can explore a unique selection of gifts and goods while families enjoy festive crafts and activities, making Winter Walk a must-visit destination for holiday cheer and community connection.
The Ornament Trail on Powell Street sponsored by Ikea is back! Visitors can pick up an Ornament Trail Guide at the Winter Walk Info Booth and explore larger-than-life ornaments created by local artists.

Expect Delays: Stockton Street between Post and O’Farrell streets will be closed beginning Monday, December 9, at midnight until Tuesday, December 24th, at 11:59 p.m. Muni will reroute the 8 Bayshore, 8AX Bayshore “A” Express, 8BX Bayshore “B” Express, 15 Bayview Hunters Point Express, 30 Stockton, 45 Union/Stockton, 91 3rd Street/19th Avenue, and T Third Street Bus routes.
