A Blossoming Field of 80,000 Tulips in Union Square
Tulip Day Presented by JPMorganChase
For one day a year, Union Square is transformed into a blooming field of 80,000 FREE Dutch tulips.
Held traditionally in honor of International Women’s Day, Tulip Day Presented by JPMorganChase on Saturday, March 21st kicks off San Francisco’s annual Union Square in Bloom initiative, in which businesses celebrate the arrival of Spring and Summer with floral displays, food, cocktails, and events, to celebrate Union Square’s rich floral tradition, as well as the Alliance’s partnership with the Consulate General of the Netherlands.
Tulip Day Presented by JPMorganChase is a free, public event that takes place one day a year in Union Square Plaza. This year, the event will be on Saturday, March 21st, 2026.
Each attendee is welcome to pick no more than 8 free tulips, and is encouraged to be mindful of time spent in the Tulip Field to maintain a comfortable walking flow, and so that everyone can enjoy the event.
